I like everything about this computer from a hardware and performance perspective but good lord wrestling with the software/firmware has been a ride. Once key has been created, double click the new key and then add the '0x800' to Value data area. Label the name of the new key as 'RMBrightnessControlFlags'. Spent like a year having to restart my computer if I wanted to change the brightness at all. Create a new key by right-clicking on the right-hand pan of the registry editor window and then select 'New' > 'DWORD (32-bit) Value'. I had to uninstall and reinstall both monitors in Windows Device Manager, uninstall and reinstall my USB-C hub (which I have my external monitor plugged into), fiddle with settings in nvidia control panel, and restart like 3 times before all the sudden everything clicked and my PC is normal again. Then it wouldn't send anything to my external monitor unless I was duplicating the displays. The brightness level as reported in the Windows Mobility Center in Windows 7 may not correspond to the brightness on the Dell Quickset On Screen Display (OSD), which will show the brightness at the maximum level. It also saw my laptop display as capable of only 1 hz (!!!) refresh so it was like using an e-ink screen or some shit. It reset all the nvidia control panel settings. The Device Manager shows two 'Base System Device's with a yellow exclamation mark. It was a sketchy process that made me feel like my computer was fucked for about 45 minutes. Just wanted to add my experience to this helpful thread.īios update fixed the brightness problem for me. But yeah, if the old driver is fine for your current needs, I'd just stay there. I also dont have any controls in Windows Settings or in the AMD software to control brightness. To control the brightness from your keyboard shortcuts you need specific drivers for your laptop model. When I press fn+F1 (brightness up) or fn+F2 (brightness down), nothing happens. If you need to upgrade your card for gaming, I'd look into PangoBright. I have a MacBook Pro from 2015 with graphics card AMD Radeon R9 M370X. In Windows 10 and 11, you can change the display brightness from the Settings panel. Right-click on the installed display drivers, and choose Update Driver Software from the context menu. Scroll down to the Display Adapters entry in the device list and expand the option. Obviously not as good as just having the fucking toggle work. Adjust the Screen Brightness from Windows Settings. Go to Start Menu > Search and type 'Device Manager' and then launch the Device Manager app. I can pick and choose which monitors to dim. It's lightweight and works well with my multiple monitor setup. Flux wasn't able to handle multiple screens independently, but I found something called PangoBright: was recommended in another Reddit thread. I've tried some third party screen dimmers/modifiers. However, with the slim 7's we have to manually restart the computer each time we go in and out of hybrid mode - I don't want to leave it on when I'm gaming because it apparently decreases performance. This forces the system to use the iGPU when out of game, so the brightness toggle works. One thing that works is putting your Lenovo in "Hybrid" mode - using Lenovo Vantage. And HOW do you get them all to take a nap?Ĭlick here to see how to make lesson planning easier. Their snack is ready for them when they get up and put their beds away. I let them sleep for about two hours and wake them up at 3. We usually finish lunch around 12 and get cleaned up and start stories by around 12:15, so if we sing and snuggle for 20 minutes, that puts the start of nap around 12:35 or 12:40. I don’t like to feed my kids and put them straight to bed, so after we clean up our lunch, we have quiet stories and songs. Next, I have to figure out afternoon snack time. If I’m serving breakfast at 8:30, then the latest I can serve lunch is 11:30, so that’s a given on my home daycare schedule. It’s so cute, but it also reminds me that I am teaching with every action. It’s hard to serve the kids a meal and having to keep running to the door and greet other kids. I noticed that most people dropped their kids off by 8:15 or so, so I made my breakfast serving time at 8:30. Different parents have different jobs and start at different times. I have kids that come in at all hours of the morning. This doesn’t mean the meal has to fit in those times, it just means you have to begin serving between those times or the meal is not creditable. My food program requires that if I say my lunch is at 11:30, I must be feeding the kids NO EARLIER than 11:15 and NO LATER than 11:45. Over the years of trying out different snack times, I have found that if I feed a morning snack, the kids don’t eat well at lunch and we waste a lot of food, so I just do snacks in the afternoon in my daycare schedule for toddlers and preschoolers.
